Guidelines for Keeping Students Home
Children are in close contact with one another at school. If parents keep their children home at the first signs of illness, it will help us prevent the spread of that illness to other children in the classroom. The following are some guidelines to help you decide when to keep your child home from school. These are also guidelines we use at school to determine when to send your student home.
● Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
● Ear ache or drainage from the ear
● Sore throat with elevated temperature or fever
● Persistent cough
● Runny nose with yellow or green discharge
● Oral temperature over 100 degrees
● Head ache and stomach ache in combination with any above symptoms
● Unidentified rash or skin ailment
● Pink eye one or both eyes. White area of the eyes looks pink /red, discharge is white, green or yellow in corners of the eye or eyes, and crusting on eyelashes. Eyes are itchy and painful
